"Les cravates par Hermes" Contest
Just found this on Hypebeast
I'm taking a chance on this for sure. Started workin on this 2 days ago (once the kids are in bed, of course!!) and already got 2 good ideas sketched. I know i'm not alone to take a try at it, but I gotta do it. I just love ties too much, and it would be a great way to get known. I'll come back on this later if things go well.
Your attention please!!!
Hemla from Y-3 Fall/Winter 2009
Honestly, when I look at fashion, or even when I create, I don't really get impressed by classic ideas with new colors. What gets my attention is new forms, new shapes, specific details. This shoe is filled with details, from the brown inserts in the sole, to the hidden eyelets on the first part of the upper of the shoe. THAT IS FASHION. Stop reinventing the Stan Smith with new colors/patterns (I know, it's a classic, I own a pair, but you can't reinvent it forever!!)
For those who don't already know, Y-3 is an Adidas project, leaded by designer Yohji Yamamoto. You can learn more about the line on the Y-3 section of Adidas.com

The Dream ft. Kanye West - Walking on the moon
I first heard this song from Kanye's "LV and Autotune 2" mixtape a couple weeks ago. I liked the sound, and now I like the look. Another nice vid by Hype Williams.

Bigger than HipHop - Dead Prez (Diplo remix)
Just heard this on Fairtilizer. That led me to a couple of websites about the guy. He's been M.I.A.'s DJ on her 2005 tour. He's the head of Mad Decent Records. He's also involved in Major Lazer with fellow DJ Switch.

Omnirkom's "Comme a la television"
They are back.... Less clubby, more refinded... A lot of nice beats by Dj Figure8, Megasoid, Le Matos.... and a great collab with Beatrice aka Coeur de Pirate. Can't wait to see if the videos will be as hype as the ones from "Trop Banane!"... Go get it!
Here's an exemple of what they did on the last album....

Gola X Christian Lacroix
You might say i'm late on this... you might have seen these a long time ago... but did you read that great quote from Christian Lacroix talking about his colab with UK's Gola??
"Les baskets sont à l’homme du XXIe siècle ce que le gilet multicolore était au dandy du XIXe, c’est-à-dire un signe distinctif, une signature personnelle."
(For you folks who don't speak French : Sneakers are, to the 21st century man, what multicolored jerseys where to the 19th century dandy; a distinctive sign, a signature.)

Activision's "DJ Hero" to come
Not much info for now. Activision has launched a website for this new game to come, but all it has is a sendlist for future news about the game. we know it will be on Xbox 360, PS3 and the Wii. It is said to be develloped by "7Studios", and there are many rumors about names of people featuring in the game : Daft Punk, DJ Shadow, Kanye West, Beastie Boys... nothing confirmed yet.
the image is what the controller (or at least a part of it) should look like.
